Pennsylvania Career Link-
SunRise CDC has partnered with the Pennsylvania Career Link
System. (Pennsylvania’s One-Stop Center for employment and
workforce development) As a result of this partnership,
residents seeking employment will be able to come to our center,
go online to search for employment, participate in job search
workshops and interview onsite for employment. The presence of
a community based employment center provides easy access for
residents and eliminates many obstacles in their employment
search.
Internship -City Year of
Philadelphia
18 to 24 year olds are invited to
participate in City Year Philadelphia. This is a ten month
internship with stipend. At the end of the ten months,
participants get a $4,000 grant to use toward educational
expenses. Several educational institutions in Philadelphia will
match that grant, effectively doubling it if you attend the

It
is important to have good credit, some employers look at
your credit history when considering you for a job. You need
good credit to buy a house or rent an apartment. SunRise CDC
has partnered with Consumer Credit Counseling Service of
Delaware Valley, and Citizens Bank to provide workshops in
Banking Basics, Credit Repair, Money Smarts, and Importance of
Good Credit

In
an effort to rebuild the Germantown and Erie Business
Commercial Corridor, we are working with the businesses on the
corridor to build capacity. We assisted them in
re-establishing the business association and the new officers
are: Dr. Harold Carter, President, Mr. Jerry Schnitzer, Vice
President, and Howard Forman, Treasurer.
